Apart from a real-time optimal enzyme dosage prediction for a specific meal, the system will allow for a nutritional evaluation of the patients’ diet, provided that the software will count on the necessary databases and algorithms and will take the advantage that patients will register the food products they consume in a meal. Nutritionists/dieticians at the hospitals will follow-up patients’ progress, and will be able to in real time send recommendations or corrections. The APP will be provided with an interactive nutritional recommendations guideline, so that patients can self-manage food choices and can consult advices and resources so as to achieve a balanced diet according to their needs. Besides, the app will be age-tailored, with different versions that will include specific interfaces and games that will progressively enrol patients to the self-management of CF.
